A publisher of tactile books for blind children. The logo can be read with a finger.
Grade 3. 16 seconds. Dodged the thumb.
Tacto prints about thirty titles a year, each with raised illustrations a child can follow by hand. Their old logo was a flat drawing of a hand, which their readers had never been able to see.
A mark you read by touch
The new mark is six raised dots, the braille letter for T, embossed on every cover and on the letterhead. Sighted people read it as a pattern. Their readers read it as a letter.
We tested every version with eleven children at a school in Braga. They threw out our first three.
